When a child leaves their home and turns to the streets we often blame it to bad or reckless parenting. No one wants to be on the side of the parents and tell them where their children is. They think they are protecting that “poor run away kid”, who is probably running away from a violent home, from alcoholic, abuse, or careless parents, and God knows what else we all say when we hear of these cases. In the other hand we thing that these children are troublemakers, “street-smart” children, children who might be having problems with the law, etc. But we don’t think that it can happen to any of us. That these things would never happen in our perfect and well grounded families. By now after all we’ve seen in the news, and around us, we ought to know that there is no such thing as a “perfect”. Even in the best homes bad things can happen. My child has run away. It’s been 4 days since she left home and after contacting the Pinellas Park Police Department, local TV News as Bay News 9 and the St. Petersburg Time, I’ve been told that they don’t run news or make articles about run away children.
For this reason I’m making my own article.
