We are atoms. Like atoms we are in constant movement. In a constant changing state. We grow up and with our mind and bodies so our responsibilities, and sometimes our families grows too. Jobs, careers, and relationships takes all of our space and rob us a little from who we really are and who we really want to be.
Life parsimonious habits can even take us far from the things we love, enjoy, and used to like, when we were young.
See Seattle for example. Seattle is supposed to be this hipster, hippy and artistic fun filled State, but in reality is filled with hyped coffee drinkers, stressed out, serious and sometimes grouchy people. Not everyone is that way, but lots of them are, as the city grows people and their priorities change. As we grow older we change. Some don’t ever change but we did. I’m Ashley, and this is my story.
It was a clear and bright Monday morning in Seattle. My two best friends, Janine & Ashley, and I went the night before to a very trendy night club to celebrate mine and Janine’s birthday which happened to be on the same day. How cool was that?. Janine had offered to pay for Claudia’s dress for the party. Cleo, as we called her, could not afford to go shopping for a new outfit this time, because her Credit Cards were all maxed out, and she refused to wear anything she already owned. But Cleo refused Janine’s kind offer. She couldn’t accept it since it was Jan’s birthday, and she was the one to be getting presents, not Cleo.
So I stepped in and offered my help, since we were almost the same sizes, I offered Cleo to borrow one of my newest dresses. There was one in particular that she loved. A flowing A line yellow dress. And she looked marvelous in it. Almost edible, like a yellow cotton candy. We all laughed when I said it and tried few more dresses and my friend picked two cute dresses to see which one she would wear to Janine’s birthday party. I did insisted on the yellow one and so Janine. Cleo accepted our suggestion and was happy with her final choice.
“Gosh girls, I have nothing to wear to your party Janine. I’m so screwed. I used my last available credit on that new I phone 7 Plus, and the 3 car payments I was behind after losing my last job, at Macaroni Grill.” “As always” I said to Cleo jokingly, to what she replied rolling her eyes at me. We were close to twenty one then but Cleo looked and acted as the youngest one of the pack. She had big brown eyes and childish curls. Beautiful hair locks thanks to her Jewish/Puerto Rican genes. Janine was a gorgeous blond Swedish girl that was born on the airplane as it landed in Seattle, WA. And her personality was bubbly and her head a little bit in the sky, as we jokingly used to tell Janine. And I a Spanish/American model, also got big brown eyes and my head a bit on the air as well, only a bit more grounded.
So I came up with a very good idea. “Let’s trade clothes tonight!”. To wish Cleo immediately agreed to. She looked at both of us apologetically and immediately said. “Thanks Janine to offer, but I can’t accept you to get me a dress as a gift when I should be the one giving you a gift. By the way I did got you a small gift.”
She got closer to me and said, “I have to go later to my brother’s jewelry store to pick up the gold earrings Janine fell in love with. She’s going to love those small pearl earrings!”
She said this in her usual high pitched childish voice as she walked and talked, and I smiled. “Nice! Go ahead and pick the dress from my closet before you do that and remember, you have to let me borrow one of your too. Deal? “.
Cleo clapped like the five year old she wasn’t. “Ok! But I’ll pick anything I like. No “caps” allowed. Shoes too. Deal?
I laughed. “Deal and grow up silly!” I replied. And she went on, “Ok. Lets see if there’s anything I like first, your fashion taste is worth than mine.”
We both giggled happily and went into my closet because she loved all my clothes and we were not only the same size, but we both had a very similar style and taste in fashion.
As my friend played princess in my closet I looked through her luggage for some dresses that I would liked too. After trying many different looks and styles we both found what we wanted, two very pretty tight sexy dresses.
Ashley picked a shimmering silver and blue tight dress, with a 70ish look to it and I grabbed a short and tight Canary yellow and gold dress with a wide black belt . The dress also had an attractive gold and silver leafy appliqué on one of the shoulders, so I matched the with a pair of stunning looking black leather hill.
All was retro and chic. My friend decided to match it with black straps stilettos. Janine was in her home finishing her own dress, a red sating mini dress. She also wore black pumps with it.
Standing in front of the lighted neon sign of Club Bloomed we looked as brilliant and stunning as our outfits. Our loose blond highlighted hair glistened under the lights as our eyes and lips did. We stood there for few short minutes then we saw Janine arrive in the distance and she gave us a smile and a good round for our money in her super short red dress and white and black peep toe pumps. It was the first week of July, however our outfits screamed Spring. After all. Three Puerto Rican descendants girls couldn’t go wrong by looking sexy, fly and glittery at the same time. That’s who we were and that’s how we were. The girls we still are.
As we waited in the fresh Summer night our friend Janine who was heading to us slowly while chatting up a cute tall College football player that she’d met in the taxicab on her way to the club. I saw the cutest boy arrived. We locked eyes for few minutes, then he walked in with a girl hanging on his left strong arms
His name was Albert Cox and he was 23 yrs. old and a senior in Duke who was on vacation like every summer visiting his grandparents and his dad. Janine went to the same University as sophomore there and knew his family and who he was, but we weren’t formally introduced yet, we knew each other only by distance.
That night it was Janine’s and Claude’s 19th birthday and she knew she could not drink but she would either way. And probably get wasted too. And she did, we all drank and ate cakes for the night; booze & cake!. We danced with each other and with other friends that arrived or were already in waiting inside for us.
I was a little disappointed that Janine could not take her eyes off Albert and he could not take his eyes of her. I nod at her and gave her a wink as a way of showing my withdrawal from the game and my blessing to her. There were plenty of fishes in the pond that night, after all. So I kept dancing and drinking with Clau, my bestie and let Janine had her fun.
As she walked by him I saw how she rubbed her breast over his back shoulder and as he extended his strong right arm and grabbed her fingers. She smiled with her eyes glittering like two lamp posts and turned back to him, he warped his arm around her and whispered something in her ears, and as she turned her head and long hair back to laugh, looking more like a character in gossip girl than herself, he kissed and bit her chin, but when he went for her lips she turned her face sideways and he kissed her warm rosy cheeks. Ironic! They made the cutest cheesiest couple ever, how gay is that? I was happy for my friend. I lifted my glass of oj and vodka and “cheered” her up!
They danced together right there in front of the bar where they were, and when the music stopped it didn’t stop with them, they continued slow dancing near the dance floor and in the middle of a hallway making everyone stop. They all stared at them, some laughing & mocking them, others smiling and envying them, like I was doing and Claudia too, but especially some guys and girls that had a crush in one of them. Janine saw them, she knew the guys drooling for her, and started laughing and all of us too. It was a fun night. We were being us, silly college girls who just wanted to have fun. (Madonna’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun song suddenly play in the background as in some sort of cue.)
Albert looked at his new date and grabbed her by the waist and kept walking near her following her closely, they went towards the bar. Once there he got her a drink and she asked him to buy us a drink too, we had barely opened our mouths to ask for the drink we wanted when he was already ordering our drinks, after all it was our birthday party and Georgie was happy to get us our drinks. Claudia was already drinking and celebrating in a little corner with one of her old flames or “romantic friend” as she liked to call then, and Janine and I had our usual drinks, but for me next round I changed it to an ice tea, not long island ice tea, since I was afraid I was ending up being my own designated driver that night. But I was wrong Janine’s guy would end up taking me he home. In the meantime we all dancing and joking around with all of their other friends there.
I usually didn’t liked to drink much so I took upon myself to be the designated driver and chaperone most of the time. The fact that I was one yr. older than them made me feel a little responsible for them, and I did felt protective of them, well, for the most part. They liked to teas me and call me Momma Ashley. A title I was very proud off in a way. At this time I was keeping a close eye on Claudia and her friend.
He was a gentleman, very elegant and looked as if we came from money. He bought us few round of drinks too and they sat closed together as he lit a small cigar. Soon Claudia was sitting on his lap and they were making out, kissing each other romantically and very passionate. He had to leave early because he said he had practice the next morning. And he offered to take Claudia with him. But we all voted against it and she stayed. Clau said good bye to him and she looked into his eyes and his face as she did that and kissed him one more time and said to him in his ears, “So is that it? That’s all you want to do right now? The night is just starting for me!.” And she winked and batted her fake long eyelashes at him.
He lifted her up from the chair and held her by the waist and said, “Nope, believe me I want to do a lot more to you right now. But we have very little time. I really need to go. Follow me to my car, please?.”
Claudia laughed and walk out with him. She waived good by to us with her purse in her hand and her drink in the other. They held hands again as they walked out of the club, groping and kissing each other, like two drunks in love. Did I said In love? Gosh! Claudia was in love with her old “romantic friend”!
Chris opened the door of his new F150 for her, he told her the model of his 4×4 truck like bragging about it and then kissed her and closed the door gently after. He got on the passenger side and they made out once more and since he had not much time he begged her to “please him” so she did. It wasn’t long before he was done. But he didn’t want to let her go. They then went to his studio near to her apt. dorm, she followed him in her car, and once there they kissed some more, drank chilled beer and started making love. And that’s when things got weird. His ex-fiancé showed up drunk and baked at his apartment and knocked loud at his door as they were lying down over the rug kissing and getting the heat on. They were both half naked on the floor and shocked by that surprise. So he yelled at his ex through the shut door that she had nothing to do there and needed to leave. At once! They were over for good on his eyes, since she had cheated on him with one of his team mates from his sports league.
She begged him to open the door and let her in. She called out his name through the door and the windows, banging on them and crying asking him to forgive her and to let her get into his apartment. He said nothing for few seconds and just stared at Claudia who said NO very quietly.
But it looks like his ex-girlfriend heard her and yelled to them, “Is someone in there with you right now, that’s why you do not want me to go in. That’s why you left me? Please let me in. I beg you, I just need to talk to you. It’s important, please let me in Chrisy, open up right now!.” His ex kept yelling nonsense through the shot door and windows sounding crazed, and very drunk. But Chris was really mad at her and very firm replied,
“You need to leave now. I do not want to see you anymore, I thought we had it clear.” He said, but she kept crying and begging to him,
“Please let me in, please Chris. I love you!.”
His face got serious but his eyes watered a little and Claudia felt so bad and said,
“Go talk to her outside, I can wait in your room. That’s all I can do. I wish you had another door or a window I can jump through right now. But I can’t so just go, talk to her. Make her calm down or something.”
He smiled at her and in a grateful soft manner he bent closer and kissed her forehead.
“Thank you, you are a good girl, a wonderful woman.” And he went outside and talked few minutes with her ex. He admitted to her that he had someone inside and that she could not come in for any reason whatsoever. He was with his date in his home and it would be awkward if she was there too. “I want to avoid a bigger problem but I will call you or text you tomorrow right after practice. We could talk then.”. He said to Tara, and she was ok with it.
“Alright C. see you tomorrow at the park then. You take care now and have fun without me, if you can. I hope that whore don’t get you and STD. Cause I know you will come back running to me when she dumps your butt off.” She said as she stated at him with drunken and sad eyes. His face was still serious, even when she kissed him on the cheek and said good by. He watch her leave.
Larissa’s sport car had been parked for almost an hour on his neighbor’s driveway as she waited for him to arrive. She saw the tall bleached blond girl and her ex kissing and walking in each other’s arms into his apartment ,and she was very angry and very much ready to rip her face off. She wanted to make sure their night got ruined, like they had ruined hers. But she loved him too much so once he agreed to walked outside and talk to her she left without making a scene or complaining. But her good intentions were short lived and as she got into her red convertible Chevy, she looked back and through the window she saw their shadows kissing. That did it for her! This time she promised she will make this girl pay for stealing her man. She will soon meet the real Larissa.
That night Larissa could not sleep. She tossed and turned. She went back to his studio apartment with a small blade in her purse. She had a crime in her mind and lots of hate for our friend Claudia. She wanted to cut her face and scarred her forever.
“She is going to pay for everything she’s done to me. She’ll see. She’ll know who Larissa is.”
She said this to herself and with as crazy hysterical laugh and shaky hands she sat and waited for them or for her to get out. Finally she decided not to wait anymore and with the small but sharp blade in hand she walked into his studio’s back patio, and creeping by the side window she saw him make love to Claudia and fall asleep hugging her, something he never did with her. She waited for her to leave. But it seemed to long of a wait and she though his date would never leave. But after one long hour waiting out in the cold, Claudia finally woke up, got fully dressed and left, after kissing Chris good night.
Larissa then followed her in her car. She watched her smile and fix up her hair in a ponytail, appearing contempt and happy. “How could she? She had no right to be happy after she had slept with a man that belonged to someone else!. Chris belonged to her and not to “sultry slut Claudia”, as she always called her since high school.
Larissa watched her park her light blue car in the near long parking lot, by Claudia’s apartment. So she got out of her car too and followed her at a near by distance. She looked at her watch. It was 2:00 A.M. She was still living with her parents and had a curfew, 1:00 AM. Her parents were a little old fashion. But she didn’t care. She had a plan that she would see through.
She followed her into her dorm building, and got into her fancy dorm studio. Claudia had left the door ajar; she was a door away from her close friends so she always felt safe there. But danger was lurking. Larissa got in behind her and was ready to attack, but before she decided to snoop in and look into Claudia’s belongings, she took a gold beaded chain and placed it into her purse. She left the room quietly. But before she left she took a flower in her hands from a vase in her room and sniffed at it, it smelled like Jasmines, just like Claudia did. She hated her even more that ever before.
Larissa then heard the water running, her rival was now showering. It was the perfect timing to sneak on her and scar her face forever for stealing the love of her life, but it was so cliché. No, she thought, she would just sit and wait for her and confront her, then she would jump her beat the crap out of her then scar her whore face.
Larissa was planning it all that as her heart was about to jump out of her chest and through her mouth. She was only 18, and about to commit a crime, and if she got discovered there she would go to jail and tried as an adult. She was not a criminal she just wanted for Claudia to learn a lesson and stop whoring around with other woman’s boyfriends. So she talked herself over that situation she calmed herself down. But she wouldn’t leave. She wasn’t leaving until she at least confronted Claudia. But a noise of the water stopping to run, made her sneak out and run outside of the apartment. She walked out fast but slammed the door behind her and then texted Claudia and Janine, threatening both of them. She had found their number from one of their common friends. She texted Claudia to go outside that she was waiting for her and needed to talk to her.
She waited and waited, but Claudia did not come out.
Claudia didn’t even look at her phone she was so tired that after her shower she went straight to her bed. Larissa was ready to walk into Claudia’s studio again after she had waited for half an hour more. But she heard steps and giggles. And she distinguished the shapes of Janine and a friend getting into their dorm door to door from Claudia’s apartment.
It was 2:55 AM. By then Larissa’s drug and alcohol levels had diffused some, same as her crazed anger. So she threw a rock at Janine’s car window crashing its window shield and turning her car engine she left driving full speed. A cop stopped her and gave her a break, and by the time she got to her house it was 3:15 in the morning, her car was sitting over the side walk almost hitting a nearby water pump. Her breath smelled like vodka, and rum, and her eyes were dilated and blood shot red. She knew she was grounded with no car and credit cards for 1 week, and all thanks to Claudia.
She was lucky, she thought, she was few yards away from her home. But then a nice looking cop stopped her and was about to giver her a ticket but after staring down at her half unbuttoned blouse and staring at her breasts and getting her mobile number he let her go with only a warning and a promising smile. He offered to follow her the short stretch home. “Don’t forget to call me” he said, once they got there, and she waived and flirted with at him, smiling back, while speeding away thought her own parking space. “Darn you biatch now I have a cop on my back too. Well, how awesome is that!”
Back in high school, Larissa was always jealous of Janine and Claudia, they never liked her. She in fact hated Claudia. Claudia was blond and Larissa disliked blonds and gingers. Red heads were okay, she was one, a fake one, but it was her favorite look and made her look sexy and fierce, not slutty or bimbo like Claudia, Janine and myself, as she thought. Early in high school and throughout middle school she had being a little punk leaning on eccentric and emo. But she knew she had it in her. She could be sexy if she wanted to even a slutty biatch. Taking advantage of her brunette vampires look and her new partially red hair due, she had turned herself from frumpy punk into a beautiful and irresistible vixen.
And Chris was the main reason for that change.
She got him. She made him fall crazy in love for her. Back then Claudia was not a real problem. She was so busy to look at him. Her eyes were glued to this new Czechoslovakian golden boy who was a transfer student and followed Claudia & us everywhere like a loyal puppy with dog bluish/ green hazel eyes and the whitest and widest smile anyone had seen. Armand Van Preftokis was a self-centered guy once you got to really know him, his big wallet and his dark hair were the only things he really cared for, and his music. But his looks were irresistible and his harsh raspy accent too.
Armand was trying to create a music band and was a DJ at nights. Besides his own-self music was his main passion was the tall and beautiful Clarissa, and blond Janine was next.
They would all skip classes go to the mountains and ride their cars, bikes, and jeeps in the mud, or they would all go to the beach, get wasted and smoke pot sitting by a bonfire singing and dancing like wild savages till late at night when no one remember how they got there in the first place or the name of the stranger they made out with or was lying next to when their heads cleared up some. And while Larissa and C. were inseparable, Claudia, Janine and Armand were going from one night partner to the other and back to each other. For Claudia Armand was fun but not Mr. Right and for Armand Claudia was a great girl and he loved her but she was not the only one for him. He liked to have fun pursuing Janine and other girls on the side. Even all at once, if he could, and he had.
He did not believed in monogamy. For him monogamy was a sin. Claudia was ok with their free love at that time. Until one day she caught him with one of her friends, Janine, and dumped him. That was the last time she saw him. She stopped talking to Janine to and her and I became the bests friends then, but I convinced her to talk to Janine again since she had always being super sweet with me and I liked her friendship too. So after getting her invited to few parties that we were going to and bumping into each other, Claudia and Janine renewed their friendship and we all became inseparable like the three amigos or the three musketeers. Once the school yr. was over and Janine moved back to her old hometown. And it was just Claudia and I, but during our Junior ear in college, Janine came back and we all started our little group again, bringing hell down to Larissa and all the other girls we disliked.
That following summer while at the beach with my now close friends Janine and Claudia we saw Georgie Cox and his friends playing tennis while they played sand volleyball, so Janine got interested in meeting him until she realized that one of his team members was his girlfriend and was now giving her the evil eye. And she looked evil too. Georgie was looking at her two and didn’t stop staring at them as the tree angels left the tennis court, us, and went into the small beach stores nearby. His eyes followed Janine’s until she disappeared into one of them. They didn’t see each other again until a recent night in a taxi. She had just enrolled in Duke and she was just starting to see familiar faces there but not so many. He and her close friends were few of the people she’d seen from her high school years. But she hadn’t met his girlfriend or so she thought.
That night she dreamed she was followed by this strange woman. She kept walking and the mystery woman kept walking behind her. She found her staring back at her with a creepy look in her eyes and she seemed angry for some unknown reason, At one point they were face to face trading insults. She was back into her old high school detention room. They had sent her there along with the punk girl after they had a stupid fight that frumpy punk girl had started by calling her slutty Janine and many more offending epithets. There she took Janine’s purse and spread out some condoms Janine had in her purse, along with some wipes and hand soap she always carried with her. Everyone laughed even the TA who asked Janine if she was homeless because she carried soap and wipes in her bag. She was more embarrassed about the condoms and very upset for what the other girl in detention did, than about anything else, so with her usual high ego she replied, “Do I look to you that I could be a homeless person? Or a freaking bum to you? WTF?
She was now seriously offended at the insult and at his question, “Is absurd that you get compared to a homeless, just because you are extra clean and keep alcohol wipes”. Her offended attitude made everyone laugh even harder. So she took her things and was ready to walk out of the room, but the TA advised her that she could not leave until he said it, She ignored him and while shooting insults across the room and back and forth with the frumpy punk walk into the dark, where headless monsters followed her and tried to hurt her. When she woke up she heard the window shield of her car being shattered down by a rock, and frumpy punk from her old high school grounded days was staring at her with her usual evil eyes, and then drove away in a late model red sport car.

Here is a brief resume or synopsis of “Believing in Love at First Sight”, a romance novel and romantic drama I began to write since 04.
This novel I began to write started as a hobby, then as a project and it finally turned into a romance/romantic novel.
Since then I’ve submitted it to two agencies already to no avail. One of the agencies, the first one I sent it to, liked it a little and asked for more chapters which due to my usual “writers blockage” I did not submitted on time to their deadline. Talking about meeting deadlines, and being a responsible mature writer huh!.
For that reason and many others my work is still not finished and not a published book as I wanted it to be.
However I still have hope, love, and faith and I’m not giving up on this journey.
Here I’ve published few chapters and also on my earlier blogs. Check them out my other page here “El Diario de Eva”.
“Believing in Love at First Sight”
It begins with Marla, or Marge, the heroine. She is an Executive at her father’s electronic company named Da’Vinci,
like the painter, she believe is their ancestors. She is coming out of a roller coaster like troublesome relationship, when she finally meets Andy at a bar, at a hotel she was staying at for few nights.
She immediately falls in love for him.
But is it “love at first sight” or is it a mere enchantment, or just plain lust?
I can act as critic and tell you what I think. But I will let you read it decipher that by yourself.
[Andy is also coming out of a relationship. He is the ‘head honcho’ of Alliance also an International electronic company, which happens to be the competitor for Da’Vinci, for an upcoming merger that Marge is trying to win. Her father is an Italian-American influential man, but his health is decaying and she is forced to run their business at a very young age.
Her determination, dedication, and her beauty, was inherited from her late mother and an important role in everything she pursued in her life, including the men. Her business ‘savieness’ and her love for a good fun challenge were her main strength, gifts passed on to her and her siblings from their beloved father who was dictatorial, firm and stern, but also very a very wise and caring man.
Her sister Emma was less into corporate mumble jumble and more inclined to the arts. Emma hates anything to do with a “real” work, and her siblings usually teases her about it and her lack of ‘normal’ interests and stability. Like a spoiled wealthy girl she is allergic to an 8-5 job and will do anything possible to avoid it. He name is Emma, and she is the free spirited one.
Marge has two brothers too. They are both playful adventurous bachelors who feel are to young to handle their father’s company or so they claim and they decided to travel the world instead and live large.
Marge’s older brother Bobby Lee, is a vivid carbon copy of Charles Bass. Her younger sibling Matt is a vivid reflection of Nate Archibald (both from Gossip Girl).] The funny part is that if I had written my character’s inspired in them or their personalities it would have never work out this perfectly. But even funnier is that my own two siblings, Robert and Mars’s physical appearance and personality is almost as identical as theirs too, except the wealthy part, of course.
[Marla’s parents had met in the 1950’s in NY. Their 1st date was in Conney Island by the Nathan’s Hotdogs stand, “the best hotdogs any American could eat”, Thomas, Marla’s father usually said to them as he began telling everyone his story about how he and Marge’s mother met. It was the usual story of that time. Thomas was a Navy soldier and met Emma Margarita Dupre by the Bay, thanks to his best friend, Sean, Emma’s brother.
“Emmie,” Thomas recounted, “was a young beautiful girl, who wore her high school uniform a little to snuggled to her body and too short and provocative for that time. Her parents had immigrated from Puerto Rico in the late 40’s and Emmie easily adapted to her American family traditions. She learned to smoke and drink from her older cousins, that lived in the Barrio, and she learned to stuff her bra with toilette paper and walk on hills, instead of flats.
She began wearing long pants with half unbuttoned shirts tied up in a knot at her perfectly shaped midriff.
She also learned to roll up her uniform skirt, pinch her cheek to look blushed and bit her lips to show more color in them. Since she was a pale as her cousins and most of her schoolmates, and free spirited as them, she fitted in easily.
Later on she learned other few more tricks from her new found friends, like rolling her gum into a guys mouth as they kissed. That was their ‘folly’ version of a “French-kiss”. She learned from her best friends to mix her lipstick with Vaseline so it would not smudge on her guy clothes or on her teeth, which was something she had known before from her aunts back home, but she had never paid really attention to it until she had her 1st kiss. And her 1st kiss was given to her by Thomas, a young Italian-American sailor and Navy soldier she later married with.
In other words from a country island young girl, Emmie turned quickly into a sexy woman in a matter if months.
Marge’s mom adored her husband Thomas until her last dying breath. She never regretted skipping school to go to Conney Island with Thomas, because that’s were they met and later on married. Less than a yr. later after they met they conceived Robbie, Marla’s 1st brother, which led to a magical and wonderful marriage until her dead. Something Marge wishes she would have herself one day. The same perfect union, just her parents had…]
Will Marge ever find true love? Find Mr. Right or instead a Mr. Right-now?

You can only find true love,
Once in a blue moon” _
Marge opened the door of the bar, called Arizona Bar & Grill. It had little or no resemblance at all to the “Old West”, but it had a good ambiance and very friendly people enjoying a quiet conversation. She looked around the place and walked straight to the bar. She then ordered a margarita her favorite drink. She drank her drink slowly enjoying it and enjoying her time alone.
She was a very attractive woman and people stared at her. Everybody she knew always said to her that she resembled her beautiful mother, who had her same dark flowing hair and fair skin. Her mother, Margaret, had been a model and actress during the impossible to clone or imitate Golden Era.
She had her mother’s lips, her eyes, and her same sculptural figure. Walking two miles twice a week was her beauty secret and her fountain of youth. She even looked like a model herself, yet she sometimes felt like an ugly duckling and way older than what she really was. But not tonight! Tonight she felt like a goddess, like she could have the whole world on her feet. And going to Arizona Bar & Grill was one of the few moments she had to be “alone” with herself.
Always around people and occupied with her extremely busy schedule, she barely had time to herself. Everything and everyone went fist for her. She was always the last thing in her mind.
At only 33, Marge was already an executive at her father’s billionaire software company named Da Vinci after the painter, who she believed was their ancestor. She did not needed to work for a living, but she always felt responsible for the company she will be heir of one day. Marge had worked her life off for her father’s company for many years. She started working for it right after her mother passed away. She was only 16 then.
Tomas, her father, had also a car accident couple of years after that. The accident had left him partially paralyzed and Margie started then helping around the company then and around the house. She ran most of their business since her father’s accident. She also helped their nanny taking care of care of her little siblings Bob, Mars, and little Emma. And rarely required, or needed any help.
Since then she became very successful on her own, making her software company grow faster for the last few years. To her father’s pride Da Vinci was now competing with IBM and all the other big names in the market. Tom, her father, was constantly praising her for her success. He was really proud of his little girl.
Margie, as her father and close friends called her, was the middle child in her family and had two older brothers, Mars and Bob. Bob, Marge’s brother, was working as a missionary between South America and Africa. And Mars was now living with his girlfriend, 10 years older, in Madrid, Spain. Their young sister was a dreamer full of youth and joy, who lived to paint and study ancient art. However, Emma was also a curator apprentice at a Museum in Santa Barbara.
Submerged in her inner thought she took a sip from her drink and a barely visible smile was drawn on her face. She remembered how her father always said to her, that she could be a great model or an actress one day, like her mother had been. It always made her laugh. And even though she enjoyed the attention she usually got; she considered it so vane.
Living in the hot city of Los Angeles could have made it easier for her to live a frivolous life and maybe become an actress. But Marge was a little timid to ever consider being under the spot-light like her beautiful mother had being. And she really didn’t care so much for all that, after all. That had been her mother’s life. It wasn’t for her, especially not now after falling in love with her father’s lawyer and her own best friend since she was in high school.
But Marge recently found out her boyfriend of many years was a liar and a thief who was stealing large sums of money from her father’s firm. And she was determined to make him pay back. She had had enough with Mat, he’d fooled her and her family for too long and she was tired of pretending everything was ok with him. She’d loved him to much and had left many of her dreams pass just to be with him and make her fiancé happy. But for Andy nothing was enough, he’d always been greedy and selfish and he wanted her and everything she had for himself, even her father’s company Da’Vincy. He wanted to own it or destroy it, so much he’d had said to her in their last argument.
As the company’s lawyer and close friend of the family he had access to many documents he could sell to the competitors. Da’Vincy Electronics & Security empire had the best electronic & security gadgets and the best stocks in the market as well. So much, it competed with IBM, Microsoft, and Alliance another popular and emerging company that was run by two of the most riches and powerful men in this business.
Playing with the salted border of her large glass with her well-manicured finger, she ignored someone was staring at her from the distance. She raised her eyes to give another look around before she finished her drink and go home. And at that very moment her eyes met with the most beautiful and magnetic eyes she had ever seen. Her legs couldn’t move then.
Andy’s eyes were deep, bright, and warm, all at the same time, and he had a charming welcoming smile that made her feel safe somehow and totally drawn to him. His aqua blue eyes were glued to her as he wondered why a pretty lady like her was there all by herself. “Maybe she was waiting for a boyfriend or a date”, he thought. He had seen her arrive and couldn’t help it but admire the beautiful woman she was. The light, coming up from a small red candle on the table shadowed her face making it look younger and beautiful, as beautiful as the girl with pearl earrings in the vintage picture displayed on the walls.
He realized that she saw him looking at her so he greeted her from the distance, with a slight movement of the head almost like a bow. And Marge responded the same way and with an almost timid but friendly smile on her face.
Soon her welcoming smile made him forget the interesting conversation he was having with a friend over a football game, and started walking towards to her, who was now smiling openly. He needed to meet that mysterious woman that was staring back at him as if her deep brown eyes were a magnet that forced him to her direction. “She is so gorgeous. Look at those eyes.” He thought as he walked to her keeping eye contact with her, as if he could read her thoughts.
“This is a real man!” She thought while Andy walked towards her, so determined and sure of him.
Marge was gladly impressed of his well built figure, like a perfect Roman sculpture. And his to tight boot cut jeans were molded over his body as if he had slide inside them covered in butter in order to get inside them, something Marge would’ve love to do too. They left very little to her imagination and she blushed for having a wild mental vision of that man totally naked walking towards her.
He approached her table, still smiling, and lighted a cigarette but didn’t offer her one. Marge asked him for a cigarette in a sexy soft tone of voice. “It would keep my hands from trembling”, she thought. Andre Tomas Levi asked her the normal questions a man would ask, in situations like that, “What’s your name?”, “You come here often?”, and “Can I buy you a drink?” And she happily answered all of his questions.
They had a small talk and later he offered her another drink. Marge accepted it. She lived five minutes away from the bar and if she got wasted that night, she could always call a cab, Marge thought. She did not drink much, and after her second drink she started feeling a little woozy, as she’d feared. But she did not mind it at all on the contrary she has having a very good time.
Sitting there with an extremely attractive man with light brown hair that favored his face, and a maddening body wasn‘t what she had had in mind that afternoon. She assumed by looking closely at him that he would be on his early 20’s. She was 35, yet she did not look her age.
Andy felt instantly attracted to her since he saw her standing by the bar. Like an angelical vision, with brown eyes and brunette curls that felt over her shoulders in a way he had not seen before. It resembled the beautiful ceramic dolls his sister collected and displayed inside a tall curio in her living room.
His sister and him where twins and they both lived together in a small ranch style house. They had inherited the house from their parents after their fatal accident that hurt him so much to remember. He was the oldest and was born only few minutes before Sarah his fraternal twin sister. Andy took care of her when their parents died in that fatal cruise accident near Miami. They were only 16 and left with nothing to survive only a small amount that his parents had saved in a bank, an even smaller life insurance and their old bitten up house. Most of their income went off in paying their house off plus some of their parent’s debts.
During that period of time he worked at a factory and that helped him pay his way through college along with a scholarship that was granted to him for being so successful at sports. He attended college at night after he finished high school. And later on he graduated majoring in International Business. No to long after that Andy started working as a Financial Analyst for an emerging company called Alliance Solutions. And in few years he became a Junior Executive at Alliance after helping his boss, also the company founder, with few but very important projects that made millions for their company. And even though he was only 25 years old, he looked as if he was almost a teenager. And he felt like one too, sometimes. And that was exactly what attracted Marge, his bright eyes and his sweet and almost childish smile.
By then they had moved to a cozy table out side. As the night fell over their shoulders, they were like a magnet that drove them closer to each other. They were getting closer and closer as they talked, learning about each other’s lives, about their careers and plans. They realized the has so much in common, they both had a lost of someone very important in their lives, and they had both lost their mother at a very early age and had to struggle somehow to get where they were now. Even though Marge had being a wealthy young girl she also had to struggle and help her young siblings out and her dad. He had to cope loosing her mother and seeing her father ill and drunk most of the time. Andy felt he had being luckier at least he had his grandmother that despite her age and being mentally ill had been there for him and his little sister all these years. It was his time now to repay Grandma Delores all her sacrifices, by visiting often and taking care of her as much as he could. At least Sarah was there too to help him take care of “Granny”.
Andy and Marge talked for long hours. After a while, they became, and held each other for what it seemed to be a very long time. “This night seem so unreal!” Marge murmured to Andy’s ear. “I feel the same as you do. Strange uh! ” He said to her and smiled as he held her head over his wide shoulder and his chest. They remained quiet again, they felt they knew each other and there was no need for more words. Marge admired the lights reflected on a lake nearby and the full moon. He touched her hands softly like old friends do, while she was staring at the lake. He stared at her and followed her eyes. She seemed close and distant at the same time. By only looking at her he knew she was not like the women in his life, the other ones he’d been with.
He’d been a bachelor and didn’t have to much respect for the weaker sex before. His mother had cheated on his father right after they died. They’d gone on trip trying to fix things up and they died in that boat accident in the Caribbean. The never return and he’d blamed his mother for it for a very long time. It took him years of therapy to go over that and over their death. He was much better now but he still had lots of trouble trusting in women. But this night he felt things differently and he was able to open up with Marge. She was an honest woman, with good values and someone who could understand him and make him laugh. He felt attracted to her even more now, after knowing her a little better. And the same thing happened with Marge.
“Marge, you are a real woman, You know?. And I don’t deserve this luck of being with someone as pretty and as sweet as you are”. He said. “You make me feel different and I like that.” He continued speaking as she looked at him and remained silent for a while considering what he was telling her. She could see that he really meant every word he said, as he looked at her straight into her eyes. It wasn’t a pick up line. She was smart, confident, mature, and sexy too. He could tell so by the way that she carried herself. She was not dressed overly sexy but her sheer shirt made him sweat. He liked her a lot and he knew she liked him too.
He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to kiss that skin all over and could not resist the temptation to put his hands over her tights and rest them there for a while making small movements with them as they talked, caressing her, but without knowing it. Marge was full aware of it, but she didn’t want him to stop toughing her. She was feeling excited by the minute as they laughed over silly jokes and stared hungrily at each others mouth.
They were talking without words, only a gesture or a smile. It seemed to them they had known each other for ever. Their warm fingers were tangled up and wouldn’t get loose. Yes. She was a whole woman, not a blond childish cheerleader with braids or a brunette with skimpy clothes. She is just what I’ve being looking for all these years, he thought as he grabbed her face in his arms and kissed her gently. When their lips finally touched, they met in a hard passionate kiss. The tension had being so hard that it was released in an uncontrollable way. It almost made them forget, at least for a brief moment, that they were in a public place, until cough near them woke them up from their love spell.
It was Mat, Andy’s friend, who hand in hand with a tall blond girl wanted to let Andy know he was leaving and didn’t need a ride. They all broke into a cheerful laugh, and when most of the light by the lake were out Andy and Marge ran to his car holding hand like a pair of young lovers.
Once inside the car their hands were all over each others bodies and their mouths were glued in a passionate kiss. She forgot everything that worried her that day and had brought her to the bar. His small kisses made her feel very special and forget all her troubles.
She wasn’t a “one night stand” type of person, but when he took her to his place to make love to her she didn’t hesitated for a second. It seemed so natural to her, being wrapped in his arms. She felt she belonged there with him, both of them naked and loving each other over his water bed. Marie felt she belonged. She felt truly loved, finally.
Over his king size water bed, all she could think of was him, Andy, and nothing else really mattered. In his arms she even forgot all of her problems. He was like a sedative drug to her. She felt flying and in peace. He kissed her in parts she’d never being kissed before making her legs tremble. She moved her hips lowly to help Andy accommodate deeper inside her impatient body. She needed him. And she’d wanted him since she first time she saw him in the bar and she knew he did too. He kissed her deeply as he moved faster and faster pulling her close him, so close she could barely breed. She kissed him back tasting his sweat in her lips. He was driving her insane and she wanted to cream out load, but was afraid waking up the whole quiet neighborhood. But suddenly they both exploded in a unison volcanic eruption of love, a love that had born the very moment they laid eyes on each other. And this time she let herself go and forgot all of her inhibitions. She then laughed at herself. At them for acting like wild horny coyotes.
Marge didn’t new it yet, but she had fallen for him. He did too, but with the difference that he recognized that feeling. A felling he thought he’ll never feel again. Marge was reluctant to fall in love. She’d swear she would never fall in love again after her break up with her long-time fiancé.
Mark had lied and cheated on her to many times, to many. He even got to the point of beating her one time after he got home drunk. He beat her up so hard that she ended up in a hospital for more than a week. The first time he ever laid his hands on her was on a Christmas night right after they’d come back from their company’s Christmas party. He had a little to much to drink that night. And after his insistence to make love to her and her refusal he’d slapped her so hard with his open hand tearing her upper lip. Earlier the next morning he apologized for what had happened. He had being out of control and was really sorry and Marge believed him. She thought that it would never happen again, as he had promised her with tear in his eyes. But it happened again. Each time it was worst. He would bit her lips so hard, as he forced her to kiss him, so they would have a mark leaving them all splotched. He was an out of control man who knew how to overcome his flaws and enchant and manipulate her into believing he was he perfect man and Mr. Right.
She’d feel humiliated and angry at her fiance for sometime but she would then forgive him. They’ve lived together for the last 3 yrs before they’d slit few weeks before Marge met Andy. She used to be in love with Mark but he changed right under her eyes. In the last past years he became jealous, angry, insecure, and even violent with her. And she would accept anything out of love for him and a little self hate. But he’d broken all the rules. He was selfish, mean and greedy. He’d crossed all the lines, if there was any left, by stealing from her family, from her father. And this time enough was enough.
Mark betrayed and hurted her so much and this time she was not letting her convince him he was innocent. She knew him already. It took her time but she now knew what he was capable of. And stealing from her father has been the last drop. He had also betrayed her by dating someone else even as he begged for her to forgive him and take him back. To make it worst he was dating someone that was somehow close to her. But she didn’t care of it anymore. She was happy she was free of him, forever. It was time for her to move one and move forward.
Finally she decided to break up with him for good. She was going to tell him it was over for good and that he needed to realize that she was not going back to him ever nor give him anymore chances. He was the lowest thing she had ever faced and she was happy it was all over now. Mark was out of her live for ever. It was all easier and simpler than what she had thought.
The harder part was seeing him walking out of her father’s building escorted by the police and in handcuffs. He’d being charged corporate spying, fraud, and some other small charges. He was even charge of transferring few of Marge father’s properties into his own name, forging Mr. Millinery’s even on his living will.
Marge realized that she had gone to far when she woke up many hours later, and found herself in Andy’s arms, naked in his bedroom. But it was to late now! She was trapped under his muscular body and her body didn’t want to be rescued. She wanted to stay like that forever. Andy made her feel safe and loved.
For a moment Marge was afraid Andy would ask her to leave. But he made love to her again. Their love making was softer as if there was no rush, and no where to be but heaven. She died of pleasure feeling his ardent kisses all over her body. She hungrily kissed him too, his neck, his chest and each swollen inch of warm wet body. She didn’t miss a spot. He loved felling her so closed to him. Their time together seemed endless. She would cherish that instant for ever, she thought to herself. “I love you Marge” She heard him whisper as he fell asleep over her breasts. Early the next morning Andy was hungry again for her sweet and delicate body. And they made love to each other again playfully in the shower. This time they loved each other with vengeance and wild passion she hadn’t felt in years, a true passion she’d thought she’ll never feel again. She clenched her teeth. It seemed as if she was smiling. “You seem ecstatic this morning” he joked as he bend over her in the bathtub and kissed her navel, she then bit her lips not to scream any louder when his lips sucked hard on her soaking wet skin. She could feel his slow movements inside the water as they had sex once again.
Andy wanted to treat her like the most delicate rose or a delicate dish he wouldn’t want to break. He made sure she was being satisfied. He took her out of the bath in his arms and placed her over his bed. He then grabbed a bottle of red wine from the kitchen and two glass cups, a dish filled with caviar, some aged Italian cheese he already knew she loved, and few saltines too. He brought the food in a small delicate tray. That was their morning breakfast. And Marge devoured everything. She wondered why he had caviar, maybe it was a leftover from a romantic dinner he’d had. “I’m I eating your date leftovers?” She said looking at the tray. “You silly, you are my date.” I had a business dinner and had a caterer bring plenty of this. So I’ll be having caviar for breakfast and lunch for two straight days. She finished drinking her cup of wine and told him she was leaving but it was only 5:30 in the morning and he begged her to stay with him till noon and go down to the beach for a swim. She agreed to his insistence and stayed a little longer resting naked on his bed. He got close to her and whispered something in her ears as he laid her on her back over his bed. Few hours later they were frolicking and swimming in the chilled waters of the ocean nearby his loft. But their bodies where so warm they didn’t feel cold at all. They hugged and caressed each other’s body laying on the sandy beach. And Marge felt she belonged to him in mind, body, and soul. What a gorgeous morning Marge thought as they stared at the pink and orange sky.
“I have to go”, said Marge picking up her pants from the floor and struggling with its zipper. Andy grabbed her hand and kissed it tenderly. He was sad she had to go so soon. He pulled her close to him and grabbing her face in his hands and then he kissed her. She bit his lips playfully. “You little brat”, yelled Andy laughing, and bulling her towards him. She was quick in releasing herself from him, before it was =o late. Andy looked at her with a mischievous smile. He enjoyed staring at her beautiful flawless face. Marge finished buttoning her jeans struggling with them a little bit more.
Blowing a kiss to him Marge disappeared through the door half dressed. She was amazing, he thought. It seemed to him as if everything had been a marvelous dream. An amazing dream he closed his eyes to believe, once she was gone. The alarm clock went off, and Marge threw a pillow at =t trying to shut it up, but that didn’t worked. She pulled herself out of her bed groaning and picked the alarm from the floor. When she looked at the time it was she realized she’d missed the 11:00 a.m. Sunday mass. She knew her sister wouldn’t be happy with that. They always went together to her mother’s =rave after mass. She fed Maximilian, her old, cat and went for a brisk walk to think about everything that happened the night before. She had a lot to sort out in her mind.
Emma, Margie’s younger sister, woke up when she heard Marge walking upstairs towards her room, next to hers. She immediately got out of bed and turned on her shower. Emma knew Ivan would call her that evening and she needed to clear some things out with him. They had had a big fight the week before over a waitress at Brisk, a bar his best friend owned and where he worked at some nights.
She wasn’t the jealousy type, but she couldn’t believe him, not this time. She caught them herself. They were kissing out side the car. He explained that May was drunk and had kissed him, taking him by surprise, while he was helping her to get into a taxi. But that was not what she saw, or =id she?
She needed more time to think about it. They had a strong and stable relationship, with, minor flaws, but it couldn’t be thrown to the =utter like that. It wasn’t that simple after so many months together. The only problem was that Emma wasn’t so sure of her feelings for him anymore. He =ad lied to her to many times about May and others like her.
May Lynn was an 18 year old high school drop-out, who flattered herself for being the toy of the cutest men in town. And to make things worst Mat had =ad a long time affair with May in the past. Marge was now fully convinced that it hadn’t really ended.
At church, Marge’s sister, and her father Thomas crossed paths with Mark, Margie’s ex boyfriend. She saw him at right after the mass ended, but pretended not to have seen him. Mat approached them with a wide cynic =mile on his face. He did not receive an answer when he asked for Marge and tried once again to explain to Tom that everything had being a misunderstanding and that he forgave them for not trusting in him. Tom waive his words =way and had Emma helping him into his car. Mark would not manipulate Tom this time, Emma thought and a small satisfied smile crossed her face.
“What was all that about?” Emma asked his father. He angrily replied that Mark was a fraud and a cheater. “ He not only cheated on your sister, but also cheated our business stealing the little money he got hold of, each time he could. “ “But why you haven’t you had he arrested, Dad?” Emma answered terrified in learning that her =former brother in-law was a vulgar thief. She was aware of him been a bigot and a cheater. She never liked him. She knew his relationship with Marge was over and she blamed him for it, even though she wasn’t completely sure why. Emma move on to distract herself with better things, her own problems =o worry about.
Julian, their driver, closed the door behind them, and ran to his driver seat. He’d driven them there since Emma was only 14 =ears old and he was merely 14. He loved riding them through the old streets of Palms Blvd. and Rosa Ave. with the lilies and daisies covering the pavement all the =ay to Mrs. Constance’s home, and then to the Holy Cross Cemetery to =ring flowers to Emma’s mom. Mrs. Constance was Marge and Emma’s grandmother, who served as their nanny, when her daughter died.
Julian liked to imagine himself driving away through =hose roads with Emma. Carrying behind that same limo a sign saying; just married”, but he knew it was only a dream. Tom probably =couldn’t allow his baby daughter to place her eyes on a mere driver. And Emma didn’t really show =any type of interest towards him, besides some furtive looks he’d caught her directing to him and his well tone rear area. “Julian! Careful with the bushes,” From =he back seat Tomas yelled at his driver. Julian had been so distracted and almost ran over the red rose bushes that decorated the entrance to Mrs. Constance’s home. But he stepped hard on the breaks and fast enough to avoid a =disaster. He then quickly got out of the limousine to help Emma’s father out, =ignoring her.
Julian felt he saw a mischievous smile on Emma’s face as she walked straight in front of him after slightly rubbing his chest with her firm breasts. He stared at her as she walked away and into the big house. Emma was a little spoiled and he enjoyed pulling her chains.
Julian was a little bored waiting for them inside the limousine, so he started cleaning the limo’s tires. As he stood up admitting his work, he found Emma’s bare legs standing right in front of him. He then saw her voluptuous tights and her tiny waist that seemed to =e asking him to touch them.
Julian’s face turned pale as he felt lump =forming inside his throat. He slowly looked up to find a half buttoned sheer white shirt and two full rosy breast barely concealed inside it staring straight at him. He groaned and pulled Emma by the waist positioned her on top of his groins and after kissing her had he pushed her inside the limo. There =e unbuttoned her shirt completely in one try. Then he kissed her lips hard and then kissed her firm small breasts.
Emma kissed him back letting her skirt and shirt fall =n the car floor as he took her into the back seat of the limo. They proceeded to make love to each other, like there where no other day ahead for them. It was like a volcano erupting in Hawaii and they were the only survivors, or something of that sort. He enjoyed her fierce and experienced attitude. He made love =o her with the same passion as if he were fighting a feisty bull. At the end none =f them said a word. There is need for words between lovers, he thought as he kissed Emma and watcher hed walk away mysteriously as she’d appeared minutes before.
Emma was happy but a little embarrassed. She had let herself =e guided again by her lower emotions. Yet she had a naughty smile on her face. he was pleased. She had seen Julian as he looked at her that morning, and many other times before, through the rear view mirror. Later she’d seen something on his face that showed her his true feelings for her. It was the way he stared at her as she walked inside the house and purposely rubbed her chest against his. She’d suspected that Julian was madly in love with her, for a while now, but this time she saw more than love through his eyes. She’d seen lust and something wild woke up inside her. A strange erotic feeling, making her made that risky move and go for her feelings not her thoughts and logic.
Julian couldn’t sleep in =he room by the pool house. All he could think was of Emma. He liked the sound of the pool fountain’s running water. But that night the running water noise wasn’t soothing. It was more like arousing to him. He tossed and tossed over the cold wide bed, hoping Emma would come to him as she’d done that afternoon, and the weeks ago right her birthday celebration was over. When Emma had turned 21. He never stopped dreaming about her since then. He was glad they had shared that moment. Yet he wanted more. He wanted to shower her with gifts and small details, throw rose petals on his bet and make a petals carpet for her that would caress her feet as she walked towards him like a pure goddess. He finally fell asleep dreaming of a Venus named Emma.
But when the sun came out Emma was no show, as he’d hoped. He stood up and closed the curtains going back to bed falling asleep like a child.
“Marge! Margie! Where are you?” Emma called as she ran upstairs. Margie was working in her office adjacent to her room and waited for Emma to stop calling and get to her. “Is dad taking his afternoon nap?” Marge asked Emma when she opened the door and entered the room. “Sorry”, Emma replied, “I forgot”, Emma smiled to her sister and immediately after started spilling all the juicy details of her rendezvous’ with Julian early that =morning.
Marge smiled as she heard her sister that sounded so elated and happy almost like a careless child. It reminded her of her last night own adventure with Andy. She missed him already and listening to her sister’s vivid descriptions of her rendezvous with Julian made her missed him even more. For some reason she could not explain, not even to herself, but she couldn’t take him off of her thoughts. Everywhere she turned she would see his eyes, see his smile, and hear his soft but raspy voice again and again the same way she’d heard it when he spoke sweet nonsense in her ears the night before.
The siblings and good friend talked for a while, but before Margie began to share her story with her sister, she had an urge to see Andy agan, so she made up an excuse and said good bye to her sister while on her way out she let the door half open and it slammed pushed by the wind as it closed behind her. It made such a hard noise that cause their maid Mica to jump startled by the noise. And so did Maximilian, their old household cat.
Marge drove straight to Andy’s house. His car was on his drive so she knew he was inside. She walked the few steps and peered through the opened window before ringing at his door, seeing him fussing with his coffee maker. A smile was drawn all over glowing face as she turned back and knocked on his door as she pressed the door bell. A half naked and surprised Andy opened it to her. He only had a blue towel wrapped around his waist. Surprised he opened the door.
But immediately he let her into his apartment he started kissing her and undressing her very quickly. He then held her tightly and kissed her hard as he slowly lifted her of her feet and walked with her in his arms into his room and let himself drop over his bed with Margie still on his arms. They kissed and laughed all the same time, as he shut the door closed with his right feet. Andy and Margie kissed and made laugh under happy giggles and had moans.
Marge was demanding and Andy happily complied with all of her demands in bed. He was happy to know how adventurous and open minded her lover was. He felt this was the woman he had dreamed for years. He was falling in love with her and he could not stop smiling because of how happy she made him feel. Andy felt that he was the happiest man in the world that afternoon and for the rest of his life as well.
It was Monday morning. and Margie had spent all weekend with her new found love. Everyone at the office was amazed that the workaholic and overly dedicated Marge didn’t arrive first than anyone else, as she always did. It his was the first time in many years that she wouldn’t be the fist one in the office. Never the less show up at all. After two hours of suspense, Marge called her assistant to inform that her father will be the only one available until the afternoon and to have her Secretary taking her messages and cancelling her morning meeting.
She would be out until later the day and away for the hole week after that, she was planning an unexpected small trip. With no further details she hung up her cell phone, while her secretary remained holding her face with her hands and with her mouth wide open as surprise, almost choked. Margie never took unplanned time off, leave alone an unplanned unorganized vacation.
Marge ignored her assistant’s loud pitch and surprised voice and said good bye to her. She blow a kiss to her lover and went half naked into his kitchen to prep something light to eat and make some coffee, since they had not had breakfast yet. She took the freshly brewed coffee into his room and sat his steaming cup over the coffee table since Andy was showering.
The shower was on and Andy ran the curtain and kissed her as he smelled the aromatic cup of coffee she had between her hands. This one is mine sweetie”, she said giggling as she pretended to take the cup away from him, but letting him take a sip from her cup anyways. Walking away slowly, letting him drink all her beauty with his hungry eyes as she informed him, “I left you a fresh cup over the night table. Hurry up, before it gets cold.” She sounded like a wife. She smirked.
She took her I-Pad from her purse to check her calendar and said out loud, screaming across the room. “Hey you, I have to go now to buy some stuff and then go to the office later. I still have some unfinished work to handle before I can head to our little vacation. It will take me a couple of hours, ok?” With that she watched him get out of the showers with his hair dripping water over his naked chest. She bit her lip and wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him good bye. All he could say was, “Call me!”
He smiled and wrapped her hands in his and kissed them, as moved them over his still wet naked chest, and they both said, “See ya later”…
After saying good bye to her, he finished dressing and drank his delicious coffee, which was still a warm steaming brew.
Marge drove into town to purchase some new and sexier outfits for her little escape with Andy. He had asked her to go with him =o a conference he needed to present and on their way back they would also =top in Santa Barbara for the rest of the coming weekends. After packing her traveling bags, he walked by to the office to pick up some reports, which sat in a stack over the night table collecting dust, since she hadn’t had time to work on them for few days.
Andy and Marge had a wonderful time together and one =eek ended up into tree more weeks. During their little vacation together in Las Vegas, as they walk tipsy and cheerful though the Vegas’ strip, Andy asked Margie to marry him. He was drunken but drunk out of love and he didn’t want to wait any longer. He wanted to have that woman who stole his heart as his wife. But Marge wasn’t convinced yet, so they returned to New York, their hometown as the single adults they were.
After only 3 months dating each other they made their relationship formal. Marge took Andy to meet her father as well as the rest of the family and they also spent an idyllic 3 weeks in Andy’s Southampton’s beach house. There Andy proposed again, hiding a magnificent wedding ring inside a rose bouquet. Marge was gladly impressed and couldn’t say no this time.
While helping the maid watering the flowers and cook a delicious meal for the family Andy walked in through the door dressed in an elegant white suit. The room smelled like lavender and lemons. She then heard someone scream. When she turned she saw Mark holding a gun and was pointing straight to Andy’s chest. She immediately ran towards him trying to protect Andy and stop him from shooting the man she loved. But he moved quickly and his gun shot two times. “No!” She cried covering her face. Emma walked to Marge shaking her until she finally woke her up. “Margie, did you have a nightmare? Don’t worry, dear, things will be fine.”
Sobbing, she hugged her little sister and told her =bout her horrible dream. Emma wiped of her older sisters tears and trying to cheer her and they both hugged. “Let’s go downstairs I made a delicious lemon cake.” Marge opened her eyes widely, but after seeing a mock on her young sister’s face she understood and they both started laughing at the joke.
Mica their old maid, and another member more of the =family, had made a great meal. She made her Tom’s favorite dessert, which promptly became Andy’s as well. Marge had learned some cooking tips from Mica, and was ready to =how off her culinary skills to Andy.
Her two older brothers, Bob and Mark, were also visiting over, with their respective girlfriends. They’d finally come to =meet the soon-to-be groom. And Marge wanted to regale them as well, since she =new how much they both had always loved her cooking. She made a quick, but =gourmet, dish of Spicy Shrimp covered in orange and pineapple rings, sauté with bourbon to compliment Mica’s tropical inspired meal.
Once everyone was reunited at the table they all ate =and conversed happily as they used to do growing up with Tom and their =other in their old house in Williamsburg, N.Y. And as head of the family and =usual tradition, Tomas said a short prayer. He spent sometime talking with Andy later. They’d become friends quickly.
They all told stories about their travels and their childhood. To everyone’s surprise Andy and Mars had being school friends until Andy dropped out to work at the factory and enrolled in night school. They kept in contact for a short while after that, but not often. And after few more years they lost complete contact. Now that they rekindled their old friendship they were teasing each other making everyone at the table laugh. They were having a great time. Tom almost chokes himself laughing so much.
Everyone in the family seemed cheery and in a very good mood. Even Julian was having a good time eating with Mica and Maximilian in the warm cozy kitchen. Staring at her family and friends Marge felt as if time hadn’t passed. They were a big happy and family, as they had been =before when their mother was alive. But Margie knew that she was different now. Andy had changed her and had turned her into a stronger woman. She was now ready to fight Mat, and get back everything he had taken from her. Then, and only then, she would start a new life_ A new life with Andy, the only man she loved. That same night they announced their engagement and wedding day.

(Una Luz al Final del Tunel) _Evelyn Lallave-Rodriguez
As Celeste’s little figure disappears down the street, an
angelic bright figure stares at her, and then turns to the public with a
soft smile on his/or her face. Across the street, on a street corner, Celeste is
talking to a much older kid who sell fruits on a kiosk, he lets her grab an apple, and
bananas for free. He then pack few oranges for her. Celeste accept the apple but
refuse to accept his gifts, but to the boy’s insistence she
grabs the bag smiling and happily she walks away waving good bye.
That was the whole meal she would have for the day and Charles Alexander
knew it, for that reason he took the fruit from his father’s stand and gave it to the young girl who was barely 13 and was fending for herself, alone on a cruel cold world.
Celeste turned to look at him and as if she was reading his mind, she smiled again and with a soft but high pitched voice she shouted, “Thank You Charles! Have a great day!
Charles shouted back, “Anytime Celest. See ya around”.
Celeste walks few more block, away from the road and into a dark trashed section of the road, heading to her “home”. The angel like figure stares at her with a serious face and follows her at a short distance. She keeps walking not knowing someone else is walking behind her. Soon she bumps into two mean looking Teenage boys, one of them pushes her around and takes the bag of oranges she was carrying. She tries to grab the bag from him but it tears up and he shoves her aside making her fall, and walks away from her, they realize the shadow of a man staring at them and before they could harm Celeste they run in different directions, while Celeste angrily throws at them the single banana that fell from the paper grocery bag they stole from her. The man did not came any closer. He did not wanted to scare her off. It was not time for her to meet him. Not yet.
It began to rain, Charles ran a plastic curtain over his wood vegetables and wood tent
and ran inside a trailer they had set up for bad whether days like these ones. They lived few miles away and to avoid running several trips to the city they came up with a trailer idea where they could take breaks in and even spend the nights there is there were any fair in town or any event where they needed to open their stand as early as 5 am.
It continued to rain and Celeste seeked cover under a piece of cardboard
protecting a ragged doll she had for many years now with her long ragged shirt. It rained profusely and Celeste wouldn’t have the change to reach the abandoned building where she was living in, this time she would probably have to sleep on any street bench or corner where she would be protected from the rain a little. Her caregiver had died of pneumonia and she cared to much for her young life to let herself get sick and not being able to care for her little kittens and her old dog.
She waiting standing for hours in the same corner, under a store side roof but the rain didn’t seemed to stop, and she was getting tired each time. After another hour, and as it got dark, she covered herself with a larger cardboard and crumpled herself wrapped to her doll to the corner of that closed building.
Meanwhile at the other side of the street a thin young girl dressed in black enters the town’s library. She is dressed expensively and seemed to be wearing working clothes even though most stores Downtown Doom City where closed due to the holidays.
The girl walked up few stairs and holding an old key-chain she opens the library’s old large double doors. She walks in, and since its dark she opens the shades and turns on a tiffanny lamp that lays over an antique dark oak desk.
She looks out the window and there she sees the poor little child
soaking wet seating by a trash bin. Hurriedly, holding a large
umbrella she goes out and crosses the street toward the little
girl and picks her up in her arms. Celeste looks at her and ask;
“Please take me home with you”.
Sophia smiles, she realized that the tiny girl she just easily picked up in her arms is a little older than she thought, a little embarrassed she lets her stand on her feet, she covers her with her own jacket and umbrella and she walks her to the store with her. Inside the store she grabs and old table cloth and she wraps the shivering girl with it, then she runs to a small break room and she warms up some tea and brings it to the little girl. As she walks back to the reading area where Celeste is laying on a rug near the warm of an old heater she looks out and she sees the figure of a tall man standing outside her library and staring right into her direction, she is startled a little since is dark outside and she runs the curtains a little and grabbing some books she had forgotten there, where she worked as Librarian assistant, she walks to Celeste and hands her her the tea.
“Is anyone waiting for you?, Where are your parents?” “Do you want me to call anyone for you, to come and pick you up?”
“No. No one is waiting for me, besides my kittens and my dog. I do not have parents. I do not have a phone either, but thank you for this tea and blanket.
“You are welcome, and that’s not a blanket, it’s a table cloth and the closest thing to a blanket I could find.” She said with a smile. Celeste smiled back.
Outside in the rain, the tall angel like figure also smiled.

(Short Story by Evelyn R.L.)
It was getting dark as the sun sat over the lake. Everything was very quiet inside the ranch style wash-white house that faced the now dark streets. Only one light was on, it was the dim yellowish light on an old light post that was tilted and almost falling down because our last storm. That night the rain was falling over the roof and ending down on the pavement and over the streets, as if it were pieces of broken glasses falling on the pavement.
The house seemed inhabited, but if you would peek through the windows, you could see that there was life inside there. Someone lived in that house, and it was a relatively young shy and quiet woman that lived there. She was sitting by a small lamp and petted her cat while holding a book over her trembling lap. The dim light coming from the lamp partially shadowed her face, and it made it look like one of Rembrandt’s paintings, half shadow and half-light. She had the same quiet and clam expression on her face, which you can always find in those paintings and in small kittens too.
So calm was her expression that it could have being mistaken for sadness. And it was; it was the outer shell of her sadness and a lot more. But she did not speak much. Her neighbors barely noticed her as she walked by with her bag of groceries later after work or as she walk to her mailbox to pick up her mail. And she was glad no one bothered her, or interrupted her solitude. She had waited long enough for this freedom of being by herself, of being forgotten by the world that once had caused her so much pain. Being this new old person, her anonymous self had being the only solution to all her problems, her nightmares, the only way she had of fighting for her ideals, the only cowardly way of running away…
She loved her house though, and her tranquil neighborhood. She also loved the trees that surrounded her large house; it seemed they wanted to hide her house inside them. But in a way she disliked her small town, her small windows, and her small life.
She missed part of her old life. She missed the man she loved so much, and she missed her children that visited her once a month, but that lived so apart from her…
Ms. Edith had being a famous Italian-Spanish pianist and artist who once was part of The Blenheim Music Circle in London. Now she was a simple home-wife waiting for her husband Marcos, a retired Mortgage Broker, to return home from one of his hunting trips with his friends in Ocala. Marcos always thought that Florida was a good place to retire to, on his early retirement at the age of 49. He was born in the late 50’s and was now 49. They’d lived there, in a small town named Saint Petersburg for almost a year since they left Manhattan. It was a big change for Edith who was now only 43 and the peak of her mature life, but she constantly felt as if she was at the end of her life.
Their children where still in NY. Ethan was 21 years old and was on his last year of college at Princeton, an commuted every day to his older sister’s house; He wanted to be a TV Producer or Video Game developer wasn’t making up his mind at the moment. Marie, his sister and the oldest child, who was 27 years old, was already a Professor of Art and Humanities at Columbia. Tara, the youngest and wilder was now 26. She was an environmental Journalist and Activist. He moved form NY to Cali and back to NY. She was now living with her partner in Soho, where most artist and environmentalists live. Edith was very proud of her grown children and very happy for their choices in life but missed them so much specially now that they were so distant from each other, but geographically speaking only. The children were inseparable and most of the time they would call each other and also recently they where calling her often. They were planning in visiting her and Marcos Edwardo in Florida for the first time since they moved back to NY, during their Spring vacation. It wasn’t that far since then, but to Edith it seemed a lifetime, being away from her children was the hardest thing.
It was autumn now, she noticed as she closed the shades. She though about the orange and tan trees of North Carolina, the small long roads of Concord and the Library in Downtown Charlotte. She remember herself walking to the bus station on an early winter, she remember her 1st snow in Charlotte, so different and so similar as the 1st snow she ever saw in NY, while returning from a touring trip to the Statue of Liberty, hand in hand with her husband Marcos. How much they had loved each other, how much they had laughed and enjoyed each other company’s. But this night as the curtains where run and her lamp was off, her large house seemed to lonely and to big for a simple quiet woman. So she turned on the radio, on an old station and she sang as tears as pearls or clear glass decorated her face…

This is my story;
I am an Amateur Photographer, and Artist and an Author. Yes. I’m a Published Author. My books are in Amazon.com search by my name. But besides that I’m mainly a Blogger, since I can remember, and a jack of all traits. I do Sales Consulting, Collections, Marketing, even Management. But my life is in the letters and the photography. That and journalism, any journalism attracts me a lot. I used to dream of being a Traveling Writer so I could circle the world and write about it, plus write my little poems and stories from exotic and amazing incredible places. But as it is it all stayed in dreams. I have circled the world through my friends and families, maybe I should interview them and beg them to live precariously through their stories and images. Maybe I get my story then. I just love writing, it fills up certain void in my life. It brings me joy.
As a young girl I knew I was an Artist and a Writer. Even by elementary school, I would read tons of books and then write my own ending or my sequels of them. I would not show anyone feeling totally embarrassed and thinking it was something wrong, like plagiarizing or just reading something that wasn’t age appropriate. In school my poems and creative drawings adorned the teacher’s classrooms, and the Principal Hernandez’s (RIP), office. Since I was a very young gifted & hyper child who loved to write and paint, he would encourage me to paint, write, or read to stay out of trouble. He made me promised him to one day become a teacher or a lawyer. I said how bout a writer? He said, “Writer is good, but they don’t make money. You should be a lawyer if you don’t want to be a teacher. But study hard cause to be a lawyer you need to read a lot, and big book.” That killed it for me. I never liked reading big books. So secretively I settled for Writer. He never knew. The last time he saw me, I had enrolled college as Elementary Teacher, but then changed my major to Computer and Business. He would probably like that too. See, I never met my father, so indirectly he was the father figure I needed.
I can’t say that I turned out to be a great Writer. But I’m happy with what I write and having the world wide web, the social networks, sites like wordpress, where I can share my passion for writing with others that shares the same joy, passion, and love for what they do. I really cherish all of my stories, my poems, drawings, and writings with all my heart.
My stories, poetry, blogs, and my arts and photographs, they mean a great deal to me. So I decided to share my creative work with the world, with the only hope that with you opinions and comments I get to learn more of this tasks and improve myself and my writings everyday. I only wish that I don’t get bullied, mocked, criticized, or called Autistic for my love for the letters and the Arts in general and to be able to morph into a great butterfly coming out of my cocoon with better brighter colors and lots of great artistic works to share with all.
So if you enjoy my blog and stories, Please Re-share it, Like it, Comment on it and Share it with your friends and loved ones, and the friends of your friends, etc. Also #followme here and in #twitter as @EvelynBlogger or in #instagram as @EvesCollection 🙂
